Amidst the Heat

"[Fire's] real beauty is that it destroys responsibility and consequences.  A problem gets too burdensome, then into the furnace with it.  Now, Montag, you're a burden.  And fire will lift you off my shoulders, clean, quick, sure; nothing to rot later." -Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451.

Pointillism

While most photographers seem to always be avoiding grain at all costs, I feel that it can be utilized to make a beautiful image everyone now and then. Note that there is a difference between noise and grain. Noise is the unattractive look that reminds you of your television when there's no signal. Grain is an antique, desirable look that originated from high ASA films, but the look can be reproduced with modern programs like Adobe Lightroom.

Taken in Solvang, CA.

Inspiration Point

Hiking is an interesting sport. Sometimes you feel like passing out and just giving up, and other times you feel like king of the world. Personally, I find inspiration and motivation whenever I come across sweeping vistas, grandiose panoramas, and other  tremendous sights. Going on hikes really puts everything back into perspective for me, and I realize how puny I am compared to the grand scheme of it all.

Time's Toll

I composed this image in Pleasanton, CA. As I was driving amidst the rolling green hills, and antique tress wrapped in veils of moss, this particular barn caught my eye. Most material things become unattractive and unsightly with time; however, there is just a small handful of things which acquire more beauty as they age (For example, this barn).
